Did barbarians like conan exist in a certain time period or were based in a certain era?

conan the barbarian i know is fiction but were barbarians like that based on a certain period in time ?|||There were many barbarian tribes in various periods of history. Conan supposedly lived in a fantasy era after Atlantis sank, perhaps 12,000 B.C. He was a Cimmerian in Robert Ervin Howard's 1930's fantasy tales. Greek myths have Cimmerians, but they are different from Howard's version. The Romans had wars with Teutons and Cimbri before 100 B.C., and Rome conquered the Gauls and Britons. Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Huns and Germans warred with Rome later. The Roman Empire fell to such barbarians in the late 5th Century A.D. The Franks became a force with which to be reckoned. They conquered the Gauls, and their land became France. Angles, Saxons and Jutes conquered the Britons, and their land became Angle Land or England. Vikings, Geats, Danes, etc. were predators in the Dark Ages. Robert E. Howard's tales are just fiction, but there were similar barbarians later.|||Conan is an exaggeration of some people from history. In point of fact, people pretty much lived the same way from the end of the paleolithic period till the Industrial revolution. Barbarians LIKE Conan never existed, any more than billionaires like Bruce Wayne or aliens like Kal-El did. Conan is an exaggeration.|||10,000 bc EPIC!!!!!!!!!
