What is the period of motion based on this situation?

A wooden block of cross-sectional area A, height h, and density 蟻_1 floats partially submerged in a fluid of density 蟻_2. If the block is displaced downward and then released, it will oscillate with simple harmonic motion. Find the period of its motion.

What equations would you use for this problem, and what is your strategy of solving the problem?|||Let it be pushed through a distance x downward.

It will displace an extra volume of fluid

= Ax, and experience an upward extra buoyant force

= Ax(蟻_2).

=%26gt; F = - A(蟻_2) * x,

where force constant k = A(蟻_2)

Mass of the block = Ah(蟻_1)

=%26gt; T = 2蟺鈭歔mass/force constant]

=%26gt; T = 2蟺鈭歔Ah(蟻_1)/A(蟻_2)]

=%26gt; T = 2蟺鈭歔h(蟻_1)/(蟻_2)].|||Use F = ma where F is the restoring force = upthrust - weight of object.|||none
