Does California Unemployment use the Alternative Base Period?

I just filed my unemployment application online (I live in CA).

If California uses the alternative base period, I won't be homeless. If they don't, my base period will be taken from a time when I worked for minimum wage -- which will make me homeless.

So I'd like to know if CA uses the alternative base period for claims. Heard they're supposed to, but not sure. Any info would be greatly appreciated!|||Per the law, California is not required to use the Alternative Base Period until April 2, 2012.

You can wait to file your unemployment claim so that other quarters are considered. If you file today, your base period will be April 1, 2010 - March 31, 2011. If you wait to file, until after Oct. 1 it will include July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011.
